The Arlington Square Big Plant

On Saturday (10th February) we held The Arlington Square Big Plant, this was our biggest plant of the year with more than 1600 plants being planted in the two northerly central beds, which were recently been dug out. We started at 8.45am and moved the plants over from the Vicarage garden to the square. From about 10am we started planting-up the beds and with a great turnout of volunteers this took us 5 hours. Along with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, homemade banana bread and sausage rolls helped to keep the troops going!

The new planting will not only add to the beauty of the square but also enhance biodiversity. These beds are being dedicated to two of our longstanding volunteers, Heather Rogers and Arthur Ward, who sadly passed away within days of each other last October.
