Four Weddings at St James’

Showbiz comes to our local church in December when Richard Curtis and some of the stars of Four Weddings and a Funeral will be filming the 2019 Comic Relief TV appeal at St James’, Prebend Street.

Four Weddings, written by Curtis and directed by Mike Newell, starred Hugh Grant(left) and Andie MacDowell. It became a worldwide hit when it was released in 1994,and was the highest-grossing British film in history at the time. The 2019 ComicRelief promotional video will be about seven minutes long, and the plot is a closely-guarded secret –although Grant has described it as ‘a Four Weddings sequel-ette’.When the cast of Love Actually filmed something similar for Comic Relief 2017, itwas the clip that raised the most money on the night.
