Boris salutes our chair
We are proud to announce that the Mayor of London’s Team London award for individual excellence in Building Stronger Neighbourhoods has been won by our new chair Gordon McArthur.
The Team London awards recognise the inspiring work that Londoners do in their own time to make the city a better place. Gordon was chosen for his “tireless efforts to improve the local neighbourhood, from organising community parties to fundraising for rose beds and a community garden in Arlington Square and improving the garden at a residential home for adults with learning disabilities.”
At an awards ceremony to salute the work of volunteers the current Mayor of London Boris Johnson was joined by special guests Hardeep Singh Kohli, Barbara Windsor, Richard Taylor and Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs.
Gordon said: “It’s a great honour to receive the award and it is good to see the great work being done by the Arlington Association being recognised at a London-wide level”.
